Privacy Policy

Plain-language explanation of how this small project website handles information. This is a project policy, not legal advice.

1. Scope

This policy covers the public website at outreach.piplines.online (including /about, /product, /impact, /faq, /contact, /privacy, and /terms). It does not cover any future hosted product, which will receive its own policy before launch. There is currently no account system, dashboard, or product database.

2. Information collected through the public website

The site is intentionally minimal. It does not include account registration, newsletter signup, comments, analytics, advertising trackers, or social-media pixels.

  • Information you choose to share by email: if you email the project, your message, address, and any details you include are received in the project inbox.
  • Contact-form helper (no transmission): the form on /contact runs entirely in your browser and composes a mailto: message that your own email app sends. The website has no backend, so the form itself transmits and stores nothing.
  • Basic technical information: like nearly all websites, the hosting provider necessarily processes connection-level data (such as IP address, date/time, requested URL, and user-agent) in server logs to deliver pages and prevent abuse.

3. Hosting logs and technical operation

This site consists of static files served by a third-party hosting provider. The hosting provider may process standard web-server logs (such as IP address, date and time, requested URL, and user-agent) and apply network security measures in order to deliver pages and prevent abuse. The project does not add any additional server-side logging of its own on this site and does not attempt to identify individual visitors from logs.

4. Cookies, analytics, and third-party services

  • Cookies: this site does not set its own cookies and does not use cookie banners, because there is nothing to consent to beyond strictly-necessary hosting operation.
  • Analytics: none. No Google Analytics, Cloudflare Web Analytics, or similar is installed. If analytics are ever added, this policy will be updated before they go live.
  • Fonts, scripts, embeds: none from third parties. Pages use system fonts and a single first-party script (/assets/js/main.js) for navigation and the mailto helper. There are no embedded videos, maps, or social widgets.
  • External links: the GitHub repository link leaves this site; GitHub’s own policies apply there.

5. How information is used

Email correspondence is used solely to read and respond to inquiries about the project — for example, practitioner input, collaboration interest, reviewer questions, or privacy requests. Messages are not used for marketing lists, and there is no newsletter.

6. Data sharing and service providers

The project does not sell personal information and does not share correspondence with third parties except:

  • with infrastructure providers strictly as needed to operate the site and email delivery (for example, the static hosting service and the email-routing service for this domain); and
  • where disclosure is required by applicable law or to protect against abuse of the contact channel.

7. Data retention

Emails are retained only as long as needed to handle the conversation and maintain a basic record of project correspondence, then deleted on request or when no longer needed. Server and network logs, if any, are governed by the hosting provider's own retention practices, which the project does not control.

8. Security practices and their limitations

The site is served over HTTPS, ships minimal code with no backend database on this domain, and avoids collecting data that does not need to exist. Email, however, is not end-to-end encrypted; avoid sending passwords, financial details, or sensitive information about other people. No security practice can guarantee absolute protection.

9. Your rights and privacy-related requests

To request access to, correction of, or deletion of correspondence you sent — or to ask any privacy question — email rajath@piplines.online with “[Privacy request]” in the subject. Requests will be handled in good faith and within a reasonable time. No specific data-protection regime is claimed to apply; requests are addressed as a matter of responsible practice, subject to applicable law.

10. Children’s privacy

This site is a general project website, not directed at children, and knowingly collects nothing from children. If you believe a child has emailed personal information, contact the address above and it will be deleted.

11. International visitors

The site is publicly accessible worldwide. Correspondence is read and stored wherever the project operator accesses email, so sending a message may involve cross-border transfer depending on the visitor's location and the providers used. By emailing the project, you understand this.

12. Changes to this policy

Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where practical, noting the change. The authoritative version is the one published at outreach.piplines.online/privacy/.
